Summary: Lisha Jeena is currently a second-year PhD student. Her research focuses on the effect of HIV on musculoskeletal outcomes for adolescents with perinatally acquired HIV infection. Her research is both; clinical and laboratory science, as she hopes to build her skills to be a well-rounded clinical scientist. Through this fellowship, she hopes to gain confidence in writing research proposals, abstracts, grant applications and creating conference posters. Her ambition for the future is to strengthen the research network for adolescent health across the continent, and particularly within sub-Saharan. She would like to work as a clinician scientist and create research opportunities for young healthcare workers.
