Dr Eugene Davids

Dr Eugene Davids is the Research Manager at Varsity College. He was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Adolescent Health Research Unit, Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, at the University of Cape Town. He holds a Bachelor of Psychology (B.Psych) degree from the University of the Western Cape as well as a Masters and Doctoral degree in Child and Family Studies from the same institution. His interdisciplinary academic background is in psychology and public health. Over the last eight years his research has examined human motivation, decision-making, and adolescent health. Eugene’s work has focused on (i) teaching and learning, (ii) student supervision and mentoring, (iii) academic support and development, (iv) research project design, analysis and dissemination as well as (v) project management and leadership. His contributions in research and leadership led to the following accolades: Invited as a member of the South African Young Academy of Science (SAYAS), nominated as a Mail & Guardian 2017 Top 200 Young South Africans, being selected as a Mandela Rhodes Scholar, Abe Bailey and Desmond Tutu Emerging Leadership Fellow as well as a Donald J Cohen International Scholar in Child and Adolescent Mental Health.
