Dr. Richard Kaplan

Dr. Richard Kaplan (Division Lead) is a senior researcher. He is a medical doctor with a focus on HIV and TB treatment who has worked as an investigator on numerous HIV treatment and prevention trials since 2007. The focus of his work has been developing and managing clinical trials of novel HIV treatments and strategies. Dr Kaplan is currently a Principal Investigator on five and a Sub Investigator on nine HIV treatment and prevention trials. Some key studies include the current University of New South Wales D2EFT trial looking at strategies for second line HIV treatment and a number of pharmaceutical studies examining the efficacy of dolutegravir in both first- and second-line ART.
